Tampere University was created on 1 January 2019 by merging the University of Tampere (founded 1925) and Tampere University of Technology (founded 1965). It is the second-largest university in Finland, with about 21,500 degree students.
The university combines technology, health and society. It is strong in engineering, computing, photonics, medicine and social sciences, and two former Prime Ministers of Finland are among its alumni.

Tampere, Finland
Tampere University has campuses in Tampere city centre, at Hervanta (technology) and at Kauppi next to Tampere University Hospital. Tampere is Finland's third-largest city and its biggest inland city, set between two lakes, and it is about 1.5 hours from Helsinki by train.
Tampere University welcomes students from Pakistan for English-taught bachelor's and master's programmes, and offers tuition-fee scholarships for non-EU students.
Most English-taught programmes in Finland start in late August or early September. Applications for the autumn intake usually open around December–January through the national Studyinfo service or the university's own portal. Students from outside the EU pay tuition fees, and Finnish universities offer scholarships that can cover part or all of the fee. After admission you apply for a Finnish student residence permit, which normally lets you work part-time while studying.
